THE HISTORY OF THE GOLD DUST SALOON
The Gold Dust Saloon was opened in 1984.
The original location was 130 S. Union Avenue, in the historic Gold Dust building.
The original business was a “beer and a shot” bar for the first several months, with a food menu added and expanded over the next few years. The business owners built relationships with various sporting groups, such as the local runners club, fast-pitch softball and flag football teams to build clientele. The business also partnered with any non-profit group to assist with fundraisers.
In 1999, the business moved to the current location, 217 S. Union Avenue. The building had been Bob’s Bear Service, a bearing service and car repair shop. The property allowed for outdoor dining and parties with it’s two large patios spaces, private loft area for small meetings, and large dining room.
In late 2017, the business was sold after 34 successful years. We are committed to honoring the history of the business, as one of Pueblo’s gems.
We took the opportunity during the Covid-19 business shutdown to update our look, by painting nearly the entire space, removed dated flooring, and opening up the loft area with a new rail, and adding new artwork throughout that represents the hard working class town Pueblo is. Although we are providing a new look and offerings both in the food and drink menus, you will find that The Gold Dust is about and for the people of Pueblo, with reasonable prices and relaxing setting. Come into The Gold Dust anytime and you will meet a welcoming staff and meet our customers that make this community great.
